Fellow)/ Assistant Professor through the combined written exam of NET (National
Eligibility Test) for all the eligible candidates through online modes of

Commission conducts the written exam of NET twice every year in the month of
June and December respectively. The candidates who wish to apply for the exam

Eligibility
Conditions: The candidates who wish to apply for the
exam must check the eligibility details in detail from the official website of
the UGC i.e. ugc.ac.in. The minimum eligibility for all candidates who wish to
sit for the exam is Masters degree in concerned discipline with a min. of 55%
marks. The candidates who are appearing for their final exam can also apply;
provided they confirm the min. marks in the previous exams. Also, the
candidates will have to complete their course in the min. marks in order to
qualify for the exam.
The candidates who have
cleared the JRF in exam are directly eligible for the post of Assistant
Professor. The candidates who have already been awarded a degree in M.Phil/Phd
shall be exempted from the minimum eligibility requirements for NET/SET/SLET
for recruitment to the position of Assistant Professor in any
college/institute/university recognized for this purpose.
Application Procedure:
The candidates who are eligible for the exam can apply online from the official
website of UGC in the manner prescribed. Application Fee is payable in the form
of Bank Challan of State Bank of India. The fee for all General candidates is
Rs.450 and Rs225 for all OBC and Rs.110 for all SC/ST and other class of
candidates.
