Exam Details: The Cochin
University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) exam date for Common Admission
Test (CAT) 2012 for various Undergraduate & Postgraduate program kind of
B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology), M.Sc (Master of Science) in Phonetics, BBA LLB
(Honors), MBA (Master of Business Administration) CUSAT CAT exam for UG
programs which will be held on 05 May 2012, for PG programs will be held on 06
May 2012 and the exam for Lateral entry B.Tech programs are scheduled on 13 May
2012.
About CUSAT: Cochin University
of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a government owned autonomous university
in Kochi (Cochin), Kerala, India. Founded in 1971, the university has three
campuses, two in Kochi and one in Kuttanad, Alappuzha, 66 km inland. The
university awards degrees in engineering and allied subjects at the
undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
How to get the application Form: Eligible
Candidates can apply online through CUSAT website http://iraaa.cusat.ac.in.
Filled application forms must be sent to The Director, RAA Unit, Cochin
University of Science and Technology, Cochin University P.O, Cochin, Kerala,
Pin – 682 022.
Application Fee: For
courses general candidates have to pay Rs. 950 and Rs. 425 is the fee for SC/
ST candidates. For diploma general candidates have to pay Rs. 100 and Rs. 50 is
the fee for SC/ ST candidates Fee can be remitted at SBI or SBT branches by
cash or by online payment using credit/ debit cards.
Exam Pattern: 1. The CUSAT
CAT 2012 comprises of Test for B. Tech and M. Sc Photonics, Lateral Entry Test
(LET) for admission to III Semester of the B. Tech course, Aptitude Test for
B.B.A LL.B. (Hons.), Test for M.A. Hindi, Aptitude Test for MBA, Aptitude Test
for MCA, Test for Biotechnology, Botany, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry,
Electronic Science and etc.
2. The CAT
score will be calculated as per the formula, S = 3R - 1W, where S is the CAT
score, R is the number of right answers and W is the number of wrong answers.
3. The test pattern will be
different for each level. The different test patterns for all the courses are
given below:
A.) For B. Tech and M. Sc
Phonetics: The test paper comprises of 250 objective type questions based on
Plus Two syllabus in which 125 questions will be from Mathematics and 125
questions will be from Physics and Chemistry with physics to chemistry ratio
maintained at 3:2. The duration of the test will be three hours.
B.) For B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.): The
test paper comprises 150 objective type questions designed to test the
proficiency in General English (50 questions) ability in reasoning and logical
thinking (50 questions) proficiency in General Knowledge and Current affairs
(25 questions) and in law related matters (25 questions). The maximum marks
will be 450.
