About GATE:
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various Undergraduate & Postgraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IIT's (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Exam Details:
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for various Bachelor & Master  Degree courses such as B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology), B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture), BE (Bachelor of Engineering), MCA (Master of Computer Application), MA (Master of Arts), M.Sc (Master of Science), ME (Master of Engineering), M.Tech (Master of Technology) for the year 2013 was announced in the second week of August 2014. The GATE is scheduled to be held in the month of January/February 2015.



Exam Pattern: The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3.00 hours (180 minutes) Duration which contains 65 Questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective questions. In all papers other than AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF, all the questions are of multiple choice type. In AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF papers, the question paper will consist of questions of multiple choice type and also some questions of numerical answer type.  For multiple choice type questions, each question will have four choices for the answer. For numerical answer type questions, each question will have a number as the answer.

It is imperative for students to know that all candidates need to apply online. , and the application fee is non-refundable.

The student must first register themselves, by providing a valid email address. Upon registration, an email will be sent with a link. Candidates will be required to choose a password, so as to ensure that the data you provide is not accessible to any person other than yourself.
 
C.) The Next step is the application form . Students need to fill in the necessary data in the online application form following instructions given there. Upload the required soft copies of photo and signature.
