About ICMR: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world. As early as in 1911, the Government of India set up the Indian Research Fund Association (IRFA) with the specific objective of sponsoring and coordinating medical research in the country. After independence, several important changes were made in the organisation and the activities of the IRFA.

Qualifications: The applicant should have
MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS degree. Knowledge of MS-Word, Excel, Power point, SPSS,
etc., good knowledge of English language, 1-3 years work experience in health
projects, report writing is desirable.
Selection Proceeding: The selection of the
aspirant will be done by interview.
Exam Details: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
has offering applications for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF),
various vacancies (like Microbiology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics,
Human Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics,
Immunology, Pharmacology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Botany, Veterinary
Sciences). Eligible candidates can attend for Indian national candidates at
Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai, Guwahati, Hyderabad and Varanasi
on 22nd July, 2012.
Procedure to Apply: Applicant may attend the
interview along with one passport size photograph, CV, one photocopy each of
Class 10th certificate and degrees of educational qualifications mentioned in
the CV, proof of experience if any and original certificates on 17-04-2014 at
10:00 AM at Reception Hall, Ground floor, Indian Council of Medical Research,
Near All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi- 110029.
Date & Time of Interview: 17th April, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
How to get the application Form:
1.) Candidate information bulletin containing the details along
with application form and challan form will be available at PGIMER website
http://pgimer.nic.in and ICMR New Delhi website http://icmr.nic.in only.
2.) After downloading application form and challan form, the candidate should take out challan form (in triplicate) and deposit the application fee in any branch of State Bank of India and send the application form duly filled along with copy of challan and two window envelopes (without self-address) affixing Rs 10/- postal stamp on them directly to Registrar, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 07th May, 2012
Exam Pattern:
A.) The test will consist of one paper of 120
minutes duration. The paper will consist of 2 Sections. The Aptitude Section
(Section A) will have 50 questions on (i) scientific phenomenon in everyday
life; (ii) general knowledge in sciences; and (iii) common statistics.
B.) All these questions would be compulsory with each question
carrying 1 mark. The subject Specific Section (Section B & C) would pertain
to (B) Life Sciences and (C) Social Science. The candidate can attempt
questions in either of the two areas. Each area of section B & C would have
100 questions and the candidate may attempt any 75 questions in the
predesignated area of Section B or C. Candidates are required to indicate the
option for Section B or C in the application form too.
C.) Each question carries one mark. Negative marking
0.25 will be made for each of the wrong answer. The questions in both the
sections would appear in English only.
