About INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK:
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) is a major bank based in Chennai (Madras), with more than 2650 domestic branches, 3 extension counters and six branches overseas as of 31/03/2012. Indian Overseas Bank has an ISO certified in-house Information Technology department, which has developed the software that 2650 branches use to provide online banking to customers. IOB also has a network of about 1433 ATMs all over India and IOB's International VISA Debit Card is accepted at all ATMs belonging to the Cash Tree and NFS networks.


Exam Details:
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has invited notification against recruitment of 387 Specialist Officer Vacancies. Candidates who have taken the Common Written Examination (CWE) for Recruitment of Specialist Officers conducted by IBPS on 11/03/2012 and obtained a valid Score Card and who meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in this notification are only eligible to apply. Eligible candidates can apply online on or before 31/10/2012.



How to get the application Form:
Eligible candidates can to  apply only through Online mode from IOB website on or before 31/10/2012. After submission of application candidates can take a printout of the system generated on-line application form to be submitted at the time of the interview. The registration number and password generated should also be retained for future reference.

Instructions for Online Application:

1.
Log on to www.iob.in to start the Online Registration process and select the ‘Careers’ link.

2.
Select the link, Payment Receipt/Challan, for downloading Challan.

3.
Take print of Bank Challan and to make payment at any branch of IOB as per instruction given above.

4.
Make payment and revisit the Bank’s website and this time select Apply Online link.

5.
Take print of Application Form and retain it to be produced at the time of Interview (if called for).

Exam Pattern: 

Interview:

A.)
Mere eligibility/ pass in the Common Written Examination (CWE) for recruitment of specialist officers shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview. Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the order of merit in Common Written Examination (CWE) for recruitment of specialist officers conducted by IBPS on 11.03.2012, as per the cut-off marks decided by the bank will be called for the interview.

B.)
The interview will carry 50 marks. Minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be 22.50 marks for general category and 20.00 marks for SC/ST/OBC/PC candidates.

C.)
Final selection will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Common Written Examination (CWE) for recruitment of specialist officers conducted by IBPS on 11.03.2012 & interview and will be strictly according to the merit ranking.
