Exam Details: National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi issued application form for National Talent Search Examination (NTSE 2012) for students studying in Class 10. National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organization set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education.
About NCERT: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an apex resource organization set up by the Government of India, with headquarters along Sri Aurbindo Marg in New Delhi, to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on academic matters related to school education. It was established in 1961. National Council for Indian Education NCIE and National Council for Education Research and Training NCERT are two different concerns.
How to get the application Form:
1.) Application from can be downloaded from the official website (www.ncert.nic.in.) of National Council for Educational Research and Training.
2.) The completed application form should be signed by the Principal of the school. The candidate as well as the Principal of the school must adhere to the last date for submission of the Application Form.
3.) Different states may have different last dates for submission. Please confirm from the liaison officer of your state, the address at which the completed forms are to be submitted.
4.) The State wise contact of the liaison officers are given below and are also available in the NCERT website.
Exam Pattern: The pattern of written examination for Class X will be as follows:
Stage I: Examination at the State/UT level will comprise of two parts, namely (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Stage II: Examination at the National level will comprise of (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
There will be two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by States/UTs through a written examination. Students, who qualify Stage- I, will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT.
