Exam Details: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts National Defense Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) (I) Examination 2013 for entry into Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 131st Course, and for the 93rd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 02/01/ 2014. Eligible male candidates can apply through online on or before 21/01/2013. National Defence Academy has steadily grown both in stature and élan. The alumni of this institution constitute the core leadership of the Indian Armed Forces.
About NDA: The National Defence Academy is a Joint Services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force are trained together before they go on to pre-commissioning training to their respective service academies. It is located in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra. It was the 1st tr-service academy in the world and is rated amongst the best in the world. NDA alumni have led and fought in every major conflict in which the Indian Armed Forces has been called to action since the academy was established. The alumni include 3 Param Vir Chakra recipients and 9 Ashoka Chakra recipients.
How to get the application Form: Interested Candidates can apply online through UPSC website www.upsconline.nic.in on or before 21/01/2013.
Instructions for Online Application:
1. Log on to the website www.upsconline.nic.in and click on Online application.
2. Candidates must fill the Part –I Online Application form by selecting the link.
3. Fill all the marked details of Part –I Application Form and then make the payment.
4. After making the payment in online or offline mode candidates must revisit the website.
5. This time candidates need to select the Part II Registration. Click on the link.
6. Upload the scanned Photograph and Signature at the places provided and submit the Application.
7. Click on the ‘submit’ link. After submitting the application form candidates can take the print out of system generated application form for any further assistance
Exam Pattern: UPSC conducts NDA (National Defence Academy) Exam in Two Stages.
I. Written Examination: The exam will constitute 2 subjects, Maths and General Ability Test and each subject is given the time limit 2.30 hours (150 minutes), maximum marks for Maths is 300 & General ability is 600. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers of Mathematics & Part B of General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
II. Interview: Desired candidates in the written examination will be called for Interview conducted by SSB (Services selection board). For Army, Navy Wings & 10 +2 Entry Scheme candidates need to undergo Intelligence Test & Personality Test, but for Air Force Wing the candidates must attend a Pilot Aptitude Test. The Interview Consists both Intelligence and Personality Test. In interview the candidates will be put to Intelligence Tests both Verbal and Non Verbal Tests based knowledge to assess their intelligence, they will also go to Group Tests such as Group Discussions, Group Planning, Outdoor Group Tasks, and asked to give Brief Lectures on Specified Subjects.
