Details: National Entrance Screening Test
(NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National
Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University
of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences
(UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CBS have been started by Department
of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. The test is conducted in 37
centers across India.
About
NEST: The National Entrance Screening Test
(popularly known as NEST) is an annual college entrance examination in India,
conducted for admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research
(NISER), Bhubaneswar and the Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE
CBS), Mumbai. These two institutes use NEST as a sole criterion for admission
to their undergraduate programs. Also, the Integrated Science Education &
Research Centre (ISERC) of Visva Bharati University has been using the merit
list of NEST for admission into its undergraduate program for the last 3
academic sessions. NEST was conducted in 37 centers across India in 2012.
How
to get the application Form: Interested
Candidates can apply on-line, by willing the application form at NEST- 2015
website (http://www.nestexam.in) or by procuring a paper application form for
NEST examination by writing to Chief Coordinator, NEST-2015.
On-line
applications: Eligible candidates can to have an
email address which they regularly use. Candidates should have visit NEST-2015
website and register themselves. Conformation of registration will be sent to
you by email. On receiving the conformation email, candidates can begin willing
up of the form. Candidates should carefully read the instructions for willing
of the form given at the web-site.
It
is mandatory that candidates upload their passport-size photograph and
signature and details of draft or electronic mail transfer details at
appropriate place. Without these the application is incomplete and will not be
considered.
Eligible
candidate is paying the fees by demand draft, he/she should write his/her name
and application number on the back side of the draft and send it with a
photocopy of printed application form to Chief Coordinator.
Exam
Pattern: The Entrance Examination shall
consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with
single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany &
Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using
Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3.00 hours (180 minutes).

All candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi.
2.)
Eligible Candidates who have passed/appearing their class XII or equivalent
qualifying examination from the State Boards of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat,
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal and seeking admission in the
institutions located in the State concerned under State Quota seats only can
opt for Question Paper in their respective Regional Language i.e. Telugu,
Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil and Bengali.

Eligible Candidates seeking admission under State Quota seats of more than one
State should appear in the examination either in English or Hindi only.
4.)
Desired Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English
only and the candidates opting for other languages would be provided Test
Booklet in English with translation in the language as per choice of the
candidate.
