Exam Details:
National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has published notification against recruitment of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation, Electronics 209 Engineering Executive Trainees under various disciplines. Eligible candidates may apply online for GATE 2015 on or before 01/10/2014 and for NTPC on or before 19/01/2015. NTPC, India's largest power company, was set up in 1975 to accelerate power development in India. It is emerging as an ‘Integrated Power Major’, with a significant presence in the entire value chain of power generation business.

How to get the application Form: Interested Candidates who possess the required qualification in relevant discipline can to apply for GATE 2015 on or before 01/10/2014. On receipt of GATE registration number, the candidates need to apply to NTPC through (www.ntpccareers.net) online mode from 20/12/2014 to 19/01/2015.

General and OBC applicants can to pay Rs. 150/- towards registration fee in form of Pay-in-slip, obtained from application registration portal, and deposit fee in cash at any SBI branch in Account No. 30987919993 at CAG branch, New Delhi, on behalf of NTPC. SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempted from fee payment.

Exam Pattern:

A.) The written test consists of two papers- Technical and Aptitude. The questions of the Technical test depend on the discipline chosen among the six disciplines. The six disciplines are Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Control and Instrumentation and HR & Finance.

B.)
The number of questions in the Technical Test is 120 and that in the Aptitude Test is 50. The questions are of multiple choice types and time allotted is 2.00 hours (120 minutes). The questions are not very tough but time management is an important issue. Maximum number of questions should be answered for getting a chance, but it should also be remembered that there is a negative marking of 1/4th (0.25) mark for every wrong answer.
