About TISS MBA:
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936, as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. The first school of social work in India, TISS was a pioneering effort with the objective of Social Welfare through academic excellence, a characteristic of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT). Its establishment was the result of the decision of the Trustees of the SDTT to accept Dr. Clifford Manshardt’s vision of a post-graduate school of social work of national stature that would engage in a continuous study of Indian social issues and problems and impart education in social work to meet the emerging need for trained human power.

 

Exam Details: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai exam dates for TISS-Masters Admission Test (TISS-MAT) 2015, is held for taking admissions into postgraduate programs such as M.A (Social Work) and M.A (Ecology), M.A (Environment) Master of Library and Information Science. Admission to these courses is made through the TISS entrance exam score. offered by the Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai. The TISS-MAT entrance exam will be held on June 2015


Exam Pattern:
The TISS test paper comprises of 50 objective type questions. Each right answer carries one mark. The entrance test will be of 1.00 hour (60 minutes) duration. Total marks for the entrance test will be 50 marks. There will no negative marks for the wrong answers. The written test has two sections.

1.) Logical and Analytical Ability (20 marks):
This section of the written test will test the candidate’s ability to think logically and analyze a set of problems and find ways of explaining the phenomenon. This section will contain quantitative reasoning as well.

2.) Social Awareness and Perspectives (30 marks):
This section will consist of three questions which will assess the candidates understanding of issues of social relevance.


Candidates applying to the various MA programs are expected to appear for a Written Test, participate in a Group Discussion and appear for a Personal Interview.

A.) Group Discussion (50 marks):
Candidates will be assessed on their performance in a group situation to discuss a subject of contemporary relevance.

B.) Personal Interview (50 marks):
Candidates will be assessed on their past academic performance and their aptitude for the specific M.A. program.

How to get the application Form:

a.)
Interested Candidates, who fulfill the eligibility criteria, can apply for the program online and are found to be eligible upon verification of all the information, will be called for an Entrance Test and Personal Interview.

b.)
All candidates are required to apply online through the E-application only, available on the Institute’s official website.

c.)
The application fees is Rs. 975 (Rs.950 application fee + Rs.25 as bank processing charges) to be deposited in Power Jyoti account or payment getaway.

d.)
Request for change in the date for the Entrance Test will not be considered.

e.)
Cash Deposit in any SBI Branch using the prescribed challan (RS. 950 + bank charges).
