About TNPSC:
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is a central agency established in 1923 by the Constitution of India that acts to ensure future capability and sustainability within the Public Service in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. In the year 1923, the British Government established a Public Service Commission to examine the salary structure of the Indian Civil Service. The Commission was composed of four Englishmen and four Indian with Lord Lee of Fare-ham serving as its Chairman. The Commission also addressed the rate of Initialization of the Indian Civil Service and the Indian Police.


Exam Details:
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Published online applications for Direct recruitment to 94 posts of Horticulture Officer with the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Services. Interested candidates can apply online 21/11/2012. It was left largely to the discretion of provincial Governments to recruit and exercise control over their Services, as they thought proper. As a result of the discretionary powers left to provincial Government, the Government of Madras and Punjab proposed to set up their Public Service Commissions.


Exam Pattern: Selection will be done in two successive stages:

 (i) Main Examination in Computer Based Test format and 


 (ii) Oral Test /Interview

Computer Based Test (CBT):
Computer Based Test (CBT) is similar to paper pen shading test. In CBT, questions with four options each will be displayed on the computer screen. Candidate has to click the best answer to the question. Candidates can proceed to the next question by clicking next button OR previous question by clicking previous button. Candidates can review any question and the answers, and the answers can be changed at any time before the closure of examination. They can also skip the questions, if they desire so. Candidate can submit their answers at any time during the examination. Once the answers are submitted, the candidates have no option to proceed further. If the candidate fails to submit their answers, the system will automatically submit the answers to the server, at the closure of the examination.

How to get the application Form:

A.)
Desired Candidates should carefully fill in the online Application form along with uploading their photograph and signature as the online application is incomplete without the photograph and signature upload. They are advised to verify all the details filled in the application form before submitting it.

B.)
There is a provision to modify the submitted Online Application. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct their details in the Online Application, if any, till last date of submission. Request for change/correction in the Application Form will not be allowed after the last date specified for applying online.

C.)
On successful submission of the application, an Application Number and password is generated. Candidates can print /save it in PDF format. Candidates can download their application and print it, at any time by entering the Application Number and password. Candidates need not send the printout of the online application or any other supporting documents to the Commission. The certificates will be verified only when the candidates come up for next stage of selection.

D.)
Eligible Candidates should have a valid e-mail ID /Mobile Number as TNPSC will send Hall Tickets (Memorandum of Admission) for Main Examination in Computer Based Test Format, Interview Call Letters, other Memos etc. over mail only / intimation through SMS.
